Port Multiplier instructions

To use the PCI40074  as a normal Port Multiplier card, it requires a system with a SATA port that supports Port Multiplying such as a SATA controller card (example: our SI-PEX40064).

Connect 1 SATA data cable from the yellow/orange SATA port on the PCI40074 to the controller card that support Port Multiplying via SATA data cable.

Connect 2 or more drives to the PCI40074.

Set the card to Clear RAID mode (This will allow you to use the card in Non-RAID mode; Lets you see all the drives individually)

Connect the 4pin floppy power feed to the card from the power supply.

Boot up normally.

With all the requirements connected, you will be able to see the 2 or more drives connected to the PCI40074. 


Red LED indicate that the Drives are recognized.

Blue LED indicates activity.
